Your hands are the first place on your body that will show signs of aging.  From washing the dishes to typing your emails, daily activities like these take a large toll on our hands.  The breakdown in elasticity and loss of moisture that occurs with everyday actions are what lead to wrinkles in your hands.  How many of you really make it a point to moisturize your hands and put SPF on them daily?  I am willing to bet that it’s very few of you.

We all work so hard to look as young as possible for as long as possible when it comes to our face.  And most of us also work hard at keeping our bodies in shape too.  But I am here to remind you that the skin on your body is just as important as the skin on your face.  You could look 10 years younger than your actual age, but one look at your hands and the guy at the carnival who bets he can guess your age is running away with your $2.  So please do your best to protect your hands.  They may be giving out more personal information that you would like them to.

So if you’re looking for a great hand moisturizer to throw into your purse, I recommend Dermalogica MultiVitamin Hand and Nail Treatment 75ml/2.5oz.  The new formulation of this moisturizer is an intense, non-greasy treatment of botanicals and vitamins that protect and repair chapped hands while strengthening nails against splitting and peeling.  Most advertisers like to refer to it as “gloves in a tube.”  It contains Panthenol, Algae and Grapefruit, which help soothe and heal dry, rough hands.  It also helps to defend hands against free radical damage with antioxidant vitamins C and E, Ginko Biloba, and Grape Seed.  Licorice also helps to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation in the skin.  The only change that I wish they didn’t make was the fact that they took out the SPF15.  The older formulation, which can still be found on the market, has the sun protection factor.  Either way, it is still my favorite hand cream and it certainly doesn’t hurt to just add on an SPF on top of it.  Try it out and let me know what kind of first impressions you’re making!
