Beauty Isn’t My Only Obsession

Hello my lovelies!!! I hope everyone is doing well and I’m so sorry for being MIA. My mom has been visiting me for the holidays and we have been complete shopaholics lately spending most of our time on Fifth Ave and in stores like Saks, Bergdorff, and Barneys! I’ve told you before on my About page that I’m a little obsessed with shoes. Well that is something I definitely get from my mama. She too has a shoe fetish and combined I’m sure we could both open up our own warehouse! It’s borderline ridiculous but has become sort of a mother-daughter bonding experience between us two. Anyway, I wanted to share with you some of our new kicks we splurged on. And when I say splurged I mean SPLURGED!!! But hey we found great deals and to be honest… we deserve to be spoiled once in a while right!?!

The Kierrah Foundation Presents Spotlight On Sisters

Happy Monday my lovelies! So I’m finally getting a moment to blog about a wonderful event I attended earlier this month back in Hollywood, CA with my family and friends. The Kierrah Foundation, a non-profit organization established to help young women who have been adversely affected by being placed in the foster care system, hosted this Purple Carpet Event honoring women in entertainment. Actress Kyla Pratt emceed this elegant evening of celebration, dinner, awards, and fashion. It was a beautiful event and I was honored to have experienced it. I was able to meet and speak with Brandy, the lovely founder of The Kierrah Foundation, and Dr. Michael Beckwith, from The Secret, among others. I wanted to share with you all some pictures from the event that I hope you will enjoy. A message to my friends:

So I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of my readers (new and old) for inspiring me with your wonderful comments and beauty questions over the past few months. I have had such an amazing time answering them for you and reviewing some of my favorite products and beauty buys as well. I have some exciting new things I am working on both for Big City Beauty and myself, so I apologize if it seems like I dropped off the face of the earth this week. Some of the things I am working on are:

1. I started a new job (YAY!) and have lots and lots to learn. From learning several different facial protocols to a brand new line of products, I have been a very busy bee.

2. I am working on developing a personal website to help promote myself in my new position, as well as gain more readership for Big City Beauty, so I will let you know as soon as that site is up and running.

3. Being a bi-coastal girl, I have several trips to the west coast that I am planning over the next couple months so I’m trying to organize my schedule for the rest of the year. And with the holidays coming up, and a really exciting event I will attending in Los Angeles (more on that in the near future), I need get it together… FAST!

4. I am going to be doing a male anti-aging product review using my old boss as a test subject. He will be attending his 20th high school reunion at the end of November so I will be doing a 4 week study on several male friendly lines. I’m really excited about it, so please stay tuned for that as I know my male readers are dying for more posts!
