Hello world! I’m Lia Patrice and I am a self-proclaimed product junkie!  From my first Caboodles® make-up set I received as a little girl growing up in California, I was hooked on anything that made me feel good in my own skin.

I had always grown up knowing I wanted to be in some sort of health profession. So with a genuine interest in skin care, I worked for several years as a coordinator for a well-known Dermatologist in Beverly Hills.  Here I gained much of my medical experience in the skin care industry and first learned the true importance of aging and the sun.  I went on to work for big name spas throughout the Los Angeles Area including Dermalogica on Montana and The La Prairie Spa at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

After finishing college as a pre-med graduate of UCLA, I decided to expand my experience in the beauty industry and moved to New York City.  Here I have worked for a couple other high-end spas, Cornelia Day Resort and The Ritz Carlton Spa by La Prairie, in management and retail training positions.  Yet my hunger for more experience and education would not stop there.  I decided to continue my search for skin care knowledge by obtaining a NY State License as a professional Esthetician or as the industry has come to know the term, a “Skin Care Specialist”.

With all of my experiences in this ever-changing industry, I decided to take my knowledge of skin care and my love for beauty products and share it all with you.  With this blog, I hope to bring to you the latest information on practicing good skin care in an urban city.  Living in big cities across the world can definitely take a toll on your skin. And sometimes you just can’t seem to find the time. Well I am here just for you. From face creams that battle that nasty pollution, to good beauty reads for your trips on the bus or subway, I cover it all here on Big City Beauty!

Other Tidbits About Me: I’m a total goofball with the best family and friends a girl could ever ask for.  I’ve also been lucky enough to find a true gentleman in my life.  So don’t worry girls, they DO exist!  And I have the cutest lil pup named Kiwi who loves to sit with me while I write my posts every day.  I love dancing, listening to music, and traveling whenever I can.  And I am also a little obsessed with shoes, anything to promote saving our environment, and really good eats.  So if you’d like to contact me on any beauty tips or even my recommendation for the best steak in NYC, you can email me at bigcitybeauty@gmail.com.
