Style Black By M.A.C.

Hola mis amores!  Today I had a fun day walking around this beautiful city I call New York to do lots and lots of shopping.  I stopped in at some of my favorite places such as BCBG, Free People, and Anthropologie just to name a few.  I also passed by the garment district and picked up some great accessories for super cheap!  And of course I popped in to M.A.C. to check out their new Style Black Collection.

Now let me tell you, this collection is like WHOA!  I’ve never personally been a lover of bold, dark makeup on myself.  But this collection, and these colors, are simply to die for!  And with fall coming up, and Halloween around the corner, I can’t think of a better time to start being more dramatic.  I picked up two of the Mineralize Eye Shadows in Gilt By Association and Young Punk, and the Glimmerglass in Bling Black.

I absolutely fell in love when I saw these shadows.  They are a sheer, pearled, mineralized powder with two shades baked together into one pan.  They are very lightweight and leave a reflective shimmer that literally changes with every angle.  It’s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  I wanted to go for the black with silver pearl called Cinderfella but felt like I was being too boring by not getting one with color.  So I went for the black with pinkish purple pearl (say that three times in a row!) called Young Punk instead.  And because I love my golds and bronzes, I had to get Gilt By Association which is black with gold/bronze pearl.

Now I wasn’t brave enough to try out the darker lip glosses in Blackware and Blackfire, so I went with the safer Glimmerglass in Bling Black.  This lightweight gloss contains variously sized gold pearl particles combined with a sheer black gloss giving enough pop and sparkle to take this conservative lip person to the next level.  I really love it and definitely don’t feel like a freak wearing it!

So for those of you who have not checked out this new line from M.A.C. you need to RUN, not walk, to your nearest counter or store and have a look for yourself.  I promise you will be walking out of there with SOMETHING!

** UPDATE 09.30.09 **  I’m going back today to pick up the Mineralize Eye Shadow in Cinderfella.  I missed it so much I had a dream about it…
