Rockin’ the Moroccan Oil

Moroccanoil Restorative Hair TreatmentHey mamas!  So I’ve never really been a big hair care person until discovering Moroccanoil Restortive Hair Mask.  I was recently visiting the most fabulous hair stylist in NYC, the lovely Karmela Lozina at John Sahag on Madison.  Now Karmela has always spoiled me with the latest and greatest hair secrets whenever I pay her a visit for a trim.  But this last time was an experience like none I had ever had before.  I received a hair treatment that from the instant it was applied I fell in love with the fragrance.  It was amazing!  I immediately asked, “WHAT IS THAT?  I HAVE TO KNOW!”  Well apparently, it was a mixture of John Sahag’s Conditioner and Moroccan oil.  I had never smelt anything so alluring and never has my hair felt so soft and conditioned.  It was exactly what my dry, brittle hair needed.  But because this was a concoction made for professional use only, I was terribly disappointed to part with my new discovery.  Like most things I want but can’t have I quickly forced the idea to the back of my head.

So a few days go by and I’m on the train reading my magazine and low and behold I find an article on Moroccanoil®.  This line of hair care products is made with argan oil, which is naturally grown in Southwest Morocco.  It is a powerful antioxidant, UV protector and rich in vitamins that are totally healthy for your hair.  So by now I’m completely sold and just have to figure out where I can get some ASAP.

Well it must have been my lucky day because as soon as I stepped out of the train, there was Moroccanoil® staring straight at me through a hair supply window.  It was truly meant to be!  With so many hair care options from the line to choose from, I decided to stick with Moroccanoil Restortive Hair Mask.  This mask was the latest addition to the line and was completely made for someone like me: someone with brittle, environmentally damaged hair.  I quickly made my purchase and couldn’t wait to go home and try it out.

Now because this treatment is so rich in oils and nutrients, I don’t recommend putting it all throughout your scalp.  And I definitely don’t recommend it for someone with thin hair, as I’m sure the product could potentially weigh it down.  But if you’re like me and have thick hair, I suggest starting from the ends and working your way up.  And take my word for it when I say, “A little goes a very long way.”  Leave the treatment on for 7-10 minutes, wash thoroughly, and VOILA!  You’ll have frizz-free, beautifully shiny hair with the added benefit of that great fragrance that started it all.

With this product, the world of hair care opened its doors to me.  I cannot wait to see what else is out there and share it all with you!

Until next time ladies…  xoxo
