Hello my dears! I am so excited to tell you all about a recent event I attended at Pier 59 Studios in NYC this past week. Sunsilk threw one of the best launch parties I have ever attended as a beauty blogger. Not only did they have free flowing champagne and delectable hors d’oeuvres, they had hair stylists, makeup artists, photographers, AND a diva fan to transform us all into a true runway model. And to top things off, they had famed fashion hair stylist (and super hottie) Teddy Charles on hand who co-created this new line of hair products by Sunsilk. Check out some of the pictures below that Jamie, a NYC based photog with tons of talent, captivated of Big City Beauty from the event.
Sunsilk, along with Teddy Charles (who shares the same love of the color purple as BCB), have co-created a complete range of hair products formulated for each of your hair needs. From shampoos to conditioners to styling products, you can target everything from dry hair, frizzy hair, fine hair, and heat damaged hair. I had the pleasure of experiencing the ThermaShine line and completely fell in love. I’m one of those people that tend to use more than they should when it comes to shampoo and conditioner. Well let me tell you, Sunsilk has come up with a formula that is so lush a very little truly goes a long way. And the product did exactly what it promised to do! It protected my hair from heated tools and left my hair with a shine I have never gotten from a shampoo and conditioner. So to say the least, I could have left the event a happy woman with just that.
But Sunsilk brought the event to a whole different level with hair stylists and makeup artists straight from NYFW to give all us beauty bloggers that runway look. I was so pleased with the style I received from Dennis and learned a lot of great makeup tips from Joy. See me pictured below with my two new friends I dream to have travel around with me keeping me looking beautiful at all times.
And it doesn’t even end there! Sunsilk had a whole photo shoot set up with Ana, our fun and playful portrait photographer, and the infamous diva fan. Next to all the swooning over Teddy Charles, the diva fan definitely stole the show and I have come to the conclusion that every girl needs one! And it wouldn’t hurt either to have a friend like Ana around making sure that all our Facebook and Twitter pictures looked hot! Lol… To check out MY glamour shot by Ana take a look below!
So to sum up this eventful night, I L-O-V-E-D the way Sunsilk made me look and feel! I had never seen my hair look better and I’m positive you will feel the same too. To see this amazing line in its entirety head to drugstore.com now because on top of the already affordable price Sunsilk has set, drugstore.com is offering a special to buy-one-get-one 50% off.
Fan Sunsilk on Facebook to see more!
Until next time my dears… xoxo

M.A.C. Too Fabulous
Hey ladies! How many of you have checked out M.A.C.’s latest and greatest collection called Too Fabulous? Well I am so excited about this line because for once it has made me excited about blush! I have never been a huge blush person. I mean I like it and I use it, but I don’t get excited over it like I do with eye shadows. So when I saw that M.A.C. was coming out with these limited edition Mineralize Blush Duos, I actually squealed with joy.
In addition to the blushes, the Too Fabulous collection came out with six new Cremesheen Glass shades, brought back three highly requested old shades, and threw in about six lip pencils to complete. I have posted below some samples of the blushes that I am just absolutely gaga over but definitely encourage you to check out the rest of the line as well. It really is “Too Fabulous”.
Rhapsody in Two
Chic Couple
Sun and Moon
(as you can see I love the neutrals)
You can check out the entire line at maccosmetics.com (enter code FAB for free shipping) or your local M.A.C. counter at Nordstrom.
Until next time ladies… xoxo

Spa Magazine DIY Beauty
Happy BCB Eco-Friday my loves! Today I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite sections from one of my favorite magazines. Spa Magazine often times has a Spa Beauty section with easy-to-make, do-it-yourself at home beauty recipes. I have personally tried many of them myself and find them to be the perfect fix for when you just don’t have the time or money to make it to the spa. Now don’t get me wrong, as a spa professional I definitely think you should keep up your regular spa visits to get that professional treatment. But when you’re looking for a quick fix or just something to maintain your treatments at home, then you should definitely check out some of these recipes.
In Spa Magazine’s Jan/Feb issue, they mentioned some great facial recipes to help you get back that glow the winter months tend to take away. For example, smash together about 2-3 figs and 1 tbsp of olive oil for a great exfoliating mask and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Or puree 1/2 peach with 1/2 cucumber and leave it on the face for about 20 minutes for the perfect tightening and brightening treatment. With recipes as simple as this, making your own facial treatments at home can be a snap.
Head on over to spamagazine.com/diybeauty to get 13 more beauty recipes that cover everything from head to toe. My faves are the Green Tea Toner, Moisture-Rich Lip Exfoliator and Revitalizing Foot Scrub. And don’t forget to pick up this Mar/Apr issue out on stands now for a list of some great spa bath products you can use at home to extend the benefits of that blissful spa massage.
Until next time my loves… xoxo

Tarina Tarantino
Hey dolls! So it’s been a while since I’ve posted for you guys and I just wanted to apologize for the delays. I’ve been going through a lot of great changes at work and have just found myself overwhelmed with activities both in and out of work. I am very thankful for these great opportunities that have come my way but I have missed my blog and especially my readers dearly. So I am back and ready to post on all the fun things I have discovered over the past couples weeks. I also want you guys to stay tuned for some great giveaways I am going to be hosting in the near future. I have PLENTY of goodies to give away and I can’t wait to host these contests as they are probably my favorite part about blogging.

Now with that being said, I wanted to talk to you guys about this fun new line created by famed accessory designer Tarina Tarantino that has recently launched at Sephora. Tarina Tarantino – also known as the “Queen of Irreverent Luxury” – has joined her passions for designing and makeup to create a line that girls of all ages can enjoy. Straight from The Sparkle Factory, Tarina Tarantino brings luxury, quality and sparkle to makeup.
My favorite product from the line is Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Shimmer Dust. From the beautiful bottle to the atomizer every little girl lusts after, this shimmer dust reminds me so much of Guerlain’s Holiday Sublime Radiant Powder but at a much more affordable price. It can be used on the face, body, or hair with any makeup look to add just the perfect amount of flirty shimmer. It sprays on lightly, doesn’t look overwhelming, and just comes in too cute of packaging to pass up. I really like this product and encourage you all to check out the rest of the line as well. It’s a lot of fun and really brings back those memories of playing with your mother’s vanity.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you guys think!
Until next time dolls… xoxo

Hello my dears! So as you all know, I am back from my fabulous trip to Paris and just had to report back to you all on my experience. I absolutely loved Paris and completely fell in love with the city. So much so that I even added it to my list of places I could definitely see myself living. The beauty and art in the architecture and history of that city was simply amazing. Every detail just had me in awe. And my boyfriend and I met nothing but wonderful, kind, and helpful Parisians. We enjoyed all the touristy sites but enjoyed the local eateries the concierges recommended to us even more. I enjoyed the food so much that I even managed to get myself sick one of the days. Lol! I really had your typical “first time to Europe” experience: I got sick, lost 100 euros, and got scammed by a taxi driver. But aside from those few mishaps, I truly enjoyed myself and would love to go back again one day.
I think the thing that stood out to me the most in Paris, aside from the beauty of the architecture (I mean even the malls looked like museums and theaters inside), was the prominence of name brand shopping. It reminded me so much of NYC and really made me feel at home on 5th Avenue or SOHO. The only difference I found was how massive their beauty departments were. I’m always fascinated by the decor and beauty of the cosmetics counters and stores here in the states, but never have I truly felt like a kid in a candy store until I was in Paris. Take a look at the pictures below for a glimpse at what the cosmetics floor at Galeries Lafayette looks like.

Now these pictures don’t even do it justice because these are only from a portion of the cosmetics floor. You have to be there to know what I mean. But when I tell you that the beauty departments and stores in Paris are big, trust me… THEY ARE BIG!!!
Now what I remember most about walking up and down the beauty aisles was the presence of a cosmetics line I had never seen before called Black Up. I came across several of their counters all over Paris and it was the intensity of colors in their ads that really caught my eye. And once I made it up to an actual counter to see, test, and feel these items, I was utterly in awe.
Black Up is a brand dedicated to women of African descent but really appeals to women (and men) of all ethnic backgrounds. The range of colors and the intensity of their pigments were just amazing. If I hadn’t lost that 100 euros the day before, trust that I would have spent it all at that counter. So you can understand how much it broke my heart to have to leave Black Up behind as I can only gaze at their selections online at blackup.com and wait for the day that they will bring the line to the US. I’m hoping and praying that day will come soon (although the company has been out since 1999) because you guys just have to see this line. Any makeup fanatic would swoon.
So keep your fingers crossed with me and let’s hope we’ll all be rushing the counters of Black Up here in the states soon!
Until next time my dears… xoxo
